On Space Jellyfish
So I've procrastinated and given up on Metroid II: Return of Samus so many times over the past seven years that it's not even funny. However, my time with AM2R: Return of Samus (the wonderful fan remake from last year) and, more recently, the impending release of the official 3DS remake Metroid: Samus Returns have convinced me to finally play it through. Now that I'm up to what the wiki calls phase 4 (out of 9), about a third of the way into the game, I want to share my first impressions. First, some quick info: For whatever it's worth, I'm playing Metroid 2 via the virtual console on Nintendo 3DS. I'm also using occasional save states, something I rarely do, but I'm making an exception for reasons I'll explain later. And as mentioned above, I'm coming into this having already played AM2R.
